There's Rick and John, mugging for the camera. Its been a productive day outdoors. As you can see, the cacti have been removed. What a prickly chore!

In place of the cacti, I've planted a colorful mix of purple pansies, white petunias and red dianthus. In the big planting area to the right of the front "porch" I have put in 3 Knock Out rose bushes and will border the whole thing with the same mix as is on the other side. My hope is that it is all growing well and filling in nicely by Memorial Day weekend.
Among other things, John worked on installing a door to close off the office from the former restaurant kitchen. The old framework had to be removed and re-done and new trim added. He did it all. Who knew he was such a talented carpenter!

Our billboard went up this morning! It's out on I-44 eastbound at the 24.0 mile marker. Peaches' sweet face is smiling at all the drivers going by. Now who could resist!

The new hot water tank is in, the building is re-plumbed for the propane. The propane tank will be moved to the office building Monday, and the new washers and dryers will go in just after. It has been an awesome (but busy) week.

May you all have a blessed week.

Hot and Cold

We're running hot and cold here at Beagle Bay RV Haven & Campground.

Today we've had 3 inches of snow. Now I know that's not much to you northerner's, but, hey, it is the first day of spring! What gives??? We have snow-covered daffodils. That's just wrong. That's the cold part.

The hot: We had Master Plumber Alan Heisner of Mt Vernon out today. He is awesome! Alan identified a multitude of issues with our current system and crafted an inexpensive, yet effective way to handle them.
He is going to be installing new hot water tanks and replumbing all our propane piping in the office building which also houses the Men's and Women's showers and restrooms and the coin laundry.
With the issues we've had lately, all we've had is cold showers. And with this snow coming down, that's just really hard to face.
Its hard to say it, but I must admit it is beautiful. The snow mutes all the sounds and adds a serenity to the air. Its just a little piece of heaven in our Haven.
Notice the "Welcome
Spring" flag hanging on my garden flag hanger in front of the office. Hmm. Seems somewhat inappropriate today.
Bless you all. Rick & Pam

SIGNS OF SPRING

For many, the five most pleasant words to hear after a long, hard winter are "Pitchers and catchers report." But for those of us who don't call either Florida or Arizona home, baseball spring training is a distant, nearly unrecognizable sign of spring.

But today on our morning walk around Beagle Bay RV Haven with Bella, it finally appeared. In one beautiful green row, sticking straight up from the shoots, were two, little bulbous protrusions.

That was it! In that row of daffodils were my first real signs of spring. Two little bundles of life, springing from the Earth, poised to burst forth into bloom at any moment.
It seems like the perfect analogy for Beagle Bay RV Haven itself. Without a doubt, when we took on this RV park and campground project we knew that there would be dark days. After four years without an office or regular maintenance, we were aware this property would be a challenge.

But hours of cleaning and scrubbing, sawing and hammering, raking and organizing are beginning to show. Beagle Bay is like those daffodils, ready to bloom.

Finally, a sign a spring! It makes a person want to go camping!

We're There!

We took ownership of the former W.A.C. RV Park in Sarcoxie on Feb. 26th and have renamed it Beagle Bay RV Haven & Campground. There is so much to do.

We're working on a safety first priority basis. Next is basic necessities - water, gas, electricity.

We've met all our long-term residents and their 4-legged friends.

A contract has been signed for a billboard on I-44 about 5 miles west of the park to help you find us from the west.

Come on down!
